Who We Are

St Matts is a church that has grown out of two - a merge of St Matthias Burley, and Riverside church.

In 2018, as part of the Diocese of Leeds vision, Bishop Paul, the then Bishop of Kirkstall, felt that God was nudging him to bring together the two churches to create a Resource Church that would be a blessing to Burley, but also to the wider city. As part of this vision, St Matts was to be encouraged to give away resources to other churches, including church planting in the city.

Today, our story is one of continuing to follow God's lead, seeking to be a blessing in Leeds in any way God invites.
